Don't Know Who You Are?

We live in a world that tags labels on us based on what we do for a living or what school we attended, or who you are married to, or what car you drive, etc.... causing us to be in a constant frenzy, trying to find validation from others. Do you find yourself trying to please others and looking for approval from those you consider to be prestigious? Well I have! Many times I looked for the approval of those closet to me, from those that I admired, from those who I wish to be like. But in that search for what I call now "false validation," I found that I did not know who I was.

See, when we understand who we are we no longer have to look outside ourselves to find validation. Look at what word of God states, "It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for"..Eph  1: 11 (The Message translation). If Christ lives within us then there is no need for us to look outside ourselves. God had His eyes on us even before we were thought of. God's purposes and plans have been laid out for us. He chose us as a design for his glory. Today my dear friend, if you have not gotten a pat on your back or recognized for your hard work and are feeling bummed out about it, then I encourage you to search your motives and understand who you are in Christ and instead of working hard to impress others, work even harder towards honoring God in all you do. Work as if it was unto God. Find your validation through Christ. He thinks you are pretty great!   Love SOLEMN

Ephesians 1:11-12

11-12It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. The Message (MSG) (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+1%3A11-12&version=MSG)
